MELT College is proud to partner with VLUK to deliver a progressive, inclusive, and industry-driven Performing Arts programme. Rooted in the values of creativity, community, and access, this course is designed for aspiring performers who are ready to shape the future of performance.

Our flagship qualification — the 2-Year Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance & Musical Theatre — empowers students to grow as performers, collaborators, and creative leaders.

COURSE OVERVIEW

​

  • Contact Time: 16+ hours per week of in-studio practical training

  • Duration: 2 years (equivalent to 3 A-Levels)

  • Assessment: Approx. 80% practical and 20% written assignments to support both artistic and academic development

  • Creative Ownership: Students explore styles and genres that reflect their own identities and interests

  • Holistic Grading: Assessment focuses on consistent performance across projects

  • UCAS Points: Up to 168 points available (at Distinction* level)

  • Regular live showcases and creative projects

  • Guest workshops with industry professionals

WHAT YOU WILL TRAIN IN

Depending on your chosen pathway, your timetable will include over 16 hours per week in:

​

  • Theatre Dance: Ballet, Jazz, Commercial, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tap, Latin, Ballroom, Acrobatics

  • Theatre Arts:  Singing, Acting, Private Vocal Coaching, Integrated Performance

  • Creative Development:  All pathways will explore and develop skills in Devising, Improvisation, and Collaborative Projects

PROGRESSION PATHWAYS

​

Graduates leave with a nationally recognised Level 3 Extended Diploma, opening the door to:

  • University or conservatoire programmes

  • Professional auditions and industry entry

  • Continued development via MELT’s optional Booster Year

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

​

  • 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English

  • Successful audition and interview

  • Support is available for students who don't achieve their desired grade in Math and English. 

AUDITIONS AT MELT ARTS CIC 

​

Auditions are completed in two stages and take place via online submission, as we understand everyone has busy schedules.

​

Stage 1: 
Please provide the following for Stage 1:

  • Complete the online application form

  • Upload a recent photo of yourself

  • Upload a 1-minute video of you performing either a dance solo, a song, or a monologue

Stage 2:

  • You will receive an invite for an online interview with a member of our MELT faculty.
